Shipsi Helps You Make Promises You Can Keep

Shipsi gives brands more, and more reliable delivery date options that customers can count on: from checkout to the door.

Why it Matters

CUSTOMIZED CHECKOUT

The delivery date is often the decisive piece of information in whether a customer commits to buy, and in whether they are satisfied when the parcel arrives. Many brands show a shipping speed instead, or show a date once, but lose track of the precise promise made.

  • The customer sees an approximate shipping speed where a firm date should be, right at the moment of commitment. “3–5 business days” asks the customer to do the arithmetic and to guess at the answer.
  • Stores that do show a date calculate it at checkout and often never look at it again. When a route changes or a leg slips, the date on the confirmation email is already wrong.
  • Delivery expecation corrections, when they come arrive as an automated status change from the carrier, or a call from an unfamiliar number. Your brand made the promise, and a stranger delivers the bad news.
  • A missed date can often cost a brand more than the delivery. It shows up as a “where is my order” contact, a negative review, and a customer who hesitates before the next purchase.
We just kind of… lie to them: here’s your delivery date. And then they get a phone call from a random number from a carrier the next day

How It Works

Girl with Mobile Laptop Boy with Mobile Boy with Mobile Boy with Mobile
01

A delivery date at checkout, by default.

The date is computed for this exact order, going to this destination, and this moment, not drawn from a generic service-level table.

02

The date can appear earlier, on the product page,

when you want it working for the sale before the customer reaches the cart.

03

The date is kept, not just given.

As the shipment moves, Shipsi refreshes the estimate. If it changes, your customer hears about it proactively, and in the context of a proffered solution, rather than finding out via an automated update which lacks clarity on next steps.

04

Tighter windows on your terms.

Brands have the option to configure more precise delivery windows, down to a time band of just an hour or two, reflecting inventory locations and conditions that the brands themselves can set.

05

Rapid implementation.

Shipsi makes it easy to get moving quickly and with minimal effort: the date switches on alongside Customized Checkout, with no separate integration for your team to run. We also offer supported onboarding: a Shipsi rep confirms that the date renders correctly, in the right place on the page, before it reaches a customer.

Why This Is Different from a Carrier’s Date

Girl with Headphone

A carrier’s date is a service-level promise: two-day means two days from the first scan, what happens in between “buy now” and the first scan is not even measured.

This type of system cannot tell your customer that the assumption behind the date has changed, because it does not know until the scan is missed. Shipsi computes the date from the same layer that chooses the route and carrier for the order, so it knows when the assumption behind the date has changed and keeps customers well-informed.

Communicated well, a moved date is a brand doing its job; discovered at the door, it is a brand that let the customer down. An estimate is not a guarantee, and this page does not describe it as one.

Impact

Customized Checkout directly affects four measurable outcomes:

The date is only as valuable as the share of customers who can rely on it, so the last two measures decide the first two. Our approach makes the delivery date a promise your brand keeps, not a figure the carrier corrects.
