CUSTOMIZED CHECKOUT

The Next Generation Optimized Checkout Experience

Shipsi puts delivery options in front of your customer that fit what they need, in language they can understand, and backed by your brand, giving them a reason to complete the purchase and giving you a promise your brand can keep, and keep well.

What It Does

CUSTOMIZED CHECKOUT

Shipsi helps brands show the right delivery promises to each customer at checkout, at the right price, at the moment they decide whether to buy.

Our technology lets you dynamically change every aspect of the options, add-ons, and delivery offers you make on the cart page, based on a host of contextual cues and consumer insights.

With Shipsi, checkout becomes a dynamic space where you can deploy what you already know about customers, learn more, and act on that knowledge in real time.

This goes far beyond simple plugins and minor messaging tweaks. With Shipsi, your brand can become more responsive to customer insights, preferences, and real-time behaviors. At the same time, Shipsi’s technology is constantly working to ensure you can be confident that you can keep the promises you make, and do so at the optimal price for each order and each customer.

The benefits are both immediate and long-term: higher cart conversion in the moment and greater customer lifetime value.

Why it Matters

CUSTOMIZED CHECKOUT

The shipping decision often determines whether the customer commits to buy or abandons the cart.

Roughly 70% of online carts are abandoned, and Baymard Institute research finds that one in five shoppers abandon at checkout because delivery was too slow, while two in five cite extra costs, including shipping.¹ At this critical moment, most brands show a static shipping line and hope it converts without losing them money.

On most e-commerce sites, every customer sees the same options at the same price, whatever they are buying and how soon they need it; the options carry the carrier’s service names, creating the impression that they are about to be “handed off” to another company, right at the moment when they are deciding if they trust your brand enough to hit “buy now”.

If the promise at checkout and the delivery behind it diverge, the customer can end up disappointed, costing you future revenue and brand credit at the very end of the funnel you worked so hard to build.

“Most customers of any business don’t know what fulfillment speed means. That’s internal language.”

The right promise, at the right price, for a given customer is the difference between a sale and an abandoned cart, which is why Shipsi treats the delivery promises at checkout as the first place delivery drives growth.

How It Works

01

Define the options in your own words.

Different delivery expectations: Instant, same-day, next-day, and standard are named, described, and priced by your brand, so the customer reads a promise they understand. Shipsi chooses the carrier and service that fulfills each one, order by order.

02

Set the price and the text to respond to the customer and the order.

In the Shipsi portal, set rules for shipping subsidies: free above a spend threshold, subsidized inside a range, a premium for the fastest option. Any signal you send Shipsi through our API, such as customer segment or product type, can be used in our pricing algorithm to maximize yield at checkout and lifetime value for new and existing customers, so each customer sees options priced to what they value. The text inside the shipping box is yours as well, and it can change by customer, order, or moment: a reassurance, a sustainability note, or an offer your brand chooses to show.

03

Choose where the options appear, and go live.

Checkout is the default. The same options can appear earlier, on the product page, the progress bar, or the mini-cart, when you want delivery selling before the customer reaches checkout. On Shopify and Salesforce Commerce Cloud, you configure options, pricing rules, and service radius in the Shipsi app and can customize the entire checkout page. For other platforms or custom builds, our team works with you to connect to checkout. A Shipsi rep confirms everything before it reaches a customer.

Why This Is Different from a Shipping Plugin

Most brands show a static shipping line at checkout and hope it converts without losing them money; a smaller number use a plugin that displays generic carrier rates.

Neither can change the options themselves, because neither is built around the customer or connected to the delivery behind each option. Shipsi connects the two: your brand defines the promise and the price, and Shipsi matches every order to the carrier and service that keeps it. You can therefore offer faster or more specific options, confident each one will be delivered as promised.

IMPACT

Customized Checkout directly affects four measurable outcomes:

The impact starts with choice: when a customer sees an option that fits what they need, at a price that feels fair, the worry about whether the order will arrive in time gives way to confidence, and that confidence carries them through to completing the purchase.
